Updating your Beneficiaries
Are your beneficiaries up to date? The end of calendar year 2024 is a great time to confirm!
Basic Life Insurance
All benefit-eligible employees have Basic Life Insurance in the amount of $100,000.
To designate a beneficiary, complete the Beneficiary NextGen Form on the Benefits web page under 鈥淏eneficiary Forms.鈥 If you are not sure who your
current beneficiary is, log into the with your SSO and locate your most recently submitted form.
Supplemental Life Insurance and AD&D
If you have purchased additional Supplemental Life Insurance or Accidental Death &
Dismemberment (AD&D), a beneficiary must be designated for each account. To designate
a beneficiary, complete the Beneficiary NextGen Form on the Benefits web page under 鈥淏eneficiary Forms.鈥 If you are not sure who your
current beneficiary is, log into the with your SSO and locate your most recently submitted form.
Retirement Beneficiaries
The University of Alaska does not maintain beneficiary information on employee retirement
accounts. To designate a beneficiary, you must work directly with the vendor in which
your funds are invested.
