16 alaska.edu emails found in LiveAuctioneers data breach
In June 2020, the online antiques marketplace which was subsequently sold online then extensively redistributed in the hacking community. The data contained 3.4 million records including names, email and IP addresses, physical addresses, phones numbers and passwords stored as unsalted MD5 hashes.
Among those email address were 16 University of Alaska emails. Visit HaveIBeenPwned to see if your email has been involved in this (or any other) breach.
You can minimize the risk to your accounts by avoiding using the same login and password combination for multiple sites. Using long and unique passwords for each account helps protect you and the university in the case of a breach.
