In addition to connecting communities through her role at UAA, Tanya is passionate about creating equal opportunities and resources for families in need. She volunteers on many boards that support equity and accessibility within Alaska’s local youth sports community, including Benton Bay Lions Club, ASC Pop Warner East Anchorage Eagles and Service Gridiron Booster Club. As a member of the Joint Elmendorf and Fort Richardson Honorary Base Commander Program, Tanya helps to increase public awareness and understanding of missions, policies, programs and the people of JBER.

Tanya holds a bachelor's degree in corporate communications from University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. She lives in Anchorage with her husband Chris, a UAA hockey alumnus, and their four children. Their family enjoys exploring new places, outdoor adventures and having a great time with family and friends.
