Stay safe as COVID-19 cases spike with these tips!

July 23, 2021

With COVID-19 case numbers rising throughout the state and the Delta variant of the virus becoming more prominent, it鈥檚 important to remember the simple things we can each do to help minimize the risk to ourselves and others.

The three W鈥檚 can help slow the spread of COVID-19: wear a mask, watch your distance and wash your hands.

Masks are currently no longer required for fully vaccinated individuals on the UAF and UAA campuses as well as the System Office, but they still are encouraged any time a safe distance cannot be maintained. Masks are required inside UAS buildings for all individuals, regardless of vaccination status.

Those who are unvaccinated need to wear a mask when inside any UA, UAA, UAF or UAS building. Each university, and the system office, continue to monitor the case counts across the state and will keep their individual communities informed about policy updates and changes as they arise.

The COVID-19 vaccine is readily available for all Alaskans ages 12 and up.
