'All Access, All The Time' - new OCR session added

September 2023 through April 2024, Disability Services (DS) offices across the state will be offering free monthly virtual training sessions covering a variety of essential DS topics.

As Office for Civil Rights (OCR) sessions are not recorded, DS received many requests for an additional presentation date and OCR responded to the call.

Considerations for OCR Accessibility Resolutions

Oct. 26,11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. with Rhonda Collins

OCR attorney Rhonda Collins serves as a member of the National Digital Access Team (NDAT). In her role on NDAT, Rhonda evaluates the websites and digital content of K-12 and post-secondary schools and libraries to ensure compliance with Federal civil rights law. Before joining OCR, Rhonda served as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Atlanta where she handled matters related to technology, cybersecurity, procurement, telecommunications, and intellectual property. Rhonda returns to °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±appto discuss website accessibility resolutions, UA’s current voluntary resolution agreement, and general procurement guidelines.

Virtual Disability Services Coffee Chats

The morning after each series presentation, staff and faculty can ‘Zoom’ with DS in an informal virtual gathering centered around coffee, conversation, and constructive solutions. DS Coffee Chats are not recorded.
