Katie Spellman and Kristin Timm named faculty fellows in Honors’ Climate Scholars Program
Kristin Timm and Katie Spellman are the newly appointed faculty fellows within the Honors College’s Climate Scholars Program.
Timm has a background in the social sciences and brings expertise in climate communication, rural development, and Arctic futures and global leadership to the Climate Scholars Program.
In addition to her depth in climate science research, Spellman has taught courses in resilience theory, the natural history of Alaska and climate workforce development.
Together, they share solid grounding in interdisciplinary work from the Resilience and Adaptation Program.
Bridging the arts, humanities and sciences, the Climate Scholars Program emphasizes site-based experiential education, rigorous paradigm shifting undergraduate research, and fostering pathways of action and response to the rapidly changing environment.
