Open Enrollment is NOW and goes through May 8
Open Enrollment is here! This is your annual opportunity to change your health plan, add or drop dependents, elect a Flexible Spending Account, supplemental life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment insurance (AD&D). All changes you make now will be effective July 1, 2020.
We're doing it all online again this year, so there's nothing to hand in or fax to HR. You can find all the details on our open enrollment web page, found directly from the benefits web site. Click the link for Open Enrollment where you'll find the Enrollment Guide, plan comparisons, rate sheets and links to other important information. When you're ready, the link to the enrollment form is right there on the page, no need to go to UAOnline first. You have until May 8 this year to make your open enrollment choices.
- The #1 question we get is "If I don't want to make any changes do I need to do open enrollment?" and the answer is no: if you don't want to change your health plan, covered dependents, life insurance (although see above), or AD&D, you don't need to complete open enrollment. BUT if you want a medical or dependent care Flexible Spending Account (FSA) you do need to complete that part of the enrollment because the FSAs do not roll over into the new year.
- If you elected a Health Savings Account (HSA) at the beginning of 2020, you don't need to do it again. The HSA will continue for the full calendar year and keep going into the future until you change it. If all you want to do is change your HSA, we have a separate form just for that.
