Wane Mowery joins General Counsel
Wayne Mowery joined the General Counsel office in November 2020 as an associate general counsel. Mowery has practiced law with a focus in higher education, intellectual property, government contracting, and international trade compliance for more than 23 years.
During that time, Mowery has served in a variety of roles and functions, including as attorney and shareholder at the firm of McQuade Blasko, Inc. in State College, PA. During his time with McQuaide Blasko, Mowery served as outside counsel to The Pennsylvania State University (Penn State) and other academic and business clients.
Immediately prior to joining the Office of General Counsel at University of Alaska,
Mowery served as Senior Director of Compliance, University Export Compliance Officer,
Empowered Official, and Federal Procurement Ethics and Compliance Officer at Penn
State. In these roles, Mowery has helped develop, implement and operate various centralized
ethics and compliance programs.
Wayne Mowery is a member of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Bar and has served in
leadership roles in a number of regional and national higher education and research
security associations and membership organizations. Mowery graduated with honors
from Dartmouth College in New Hampshire and The Dickinson School of Law in Pennsylvania,
where he served as Editor-in-Chief of one of the oldest U.S. Law Reviews in the country.
In his spare time, Mowery loves to golf, enjoy outdoor sports and activities, fly,
travel and hang out with his wife Allison and their two dogs.
